ESCA BONA, quite literally: It’s Latin for “Good Food”.

At Esca Bona we want to change the food system. And we’re doing it by creating space for passionate people to collaborate on action-oriented solutions. With a service project, partnerships with industry leaders like B Lab, and a focus on The Fix (an opportunity for brands to ‘pitch’ their problems and get feedback from industry veterans), we want results. Esca Bona is an intimate opportunity for everyone to participate, ask questions, and bring their solutions to create a more regenerative, transparent, just, nutritious and delicious food system.

DISCUSSION: Connecting Through Food: A Seat at the Table for All

To dig deep, we’ve created an interactive lunch discussion that transforms difficult conversations into those of deep engagement, empathy and empowerment.

What we consume each day plays a powerful role in who we are. At our daily tables, we hold beliefs, passions, assumptions, preferences and stories. In this hour, we hope to examine these choices to find deeper meaning and explore how we can all build more inclusive companies.

This is an exercise in building empathy, trust and compassion. We need to think about food as part of a system. With this intimate hour, we’ll explore the role of privilege, our individual food stories and different socioeconomic forces that shape our collective palates.

Daniel Karsevar – Global innovator, restauranteur and chef

Daniel Karsevar is the founder of Solutiontopia, Inc., a New York City based boutique advisory services firm focused on launching start-ups and scaling small growth CPG brands in the natural foods space to providing innovative solutions for Fortune 500 food companies looking to grow into the natural food space. Prior to launching Solutiontopia, Chloe’s Fruit. hired Daniel as President and COO in 2010. He successfully led Chloe’s Fruit from a quick service restaurant to an award-winning wholesale and consumer packaged goods company with national reach in over 15,000 retail stores.

Daniel was hired by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in 2007 to spearhead a new restaurant development department for their global collection of hotel brands working with brand leaders of – LeMeridien, Aloft, and Element hotels.
